The nights are drawing in.

September has been quite a month so far . We have just completed the RS 800 and 700 nationals which was a great success thanks to Rob and Sandra Smith's great organisation and their team of volunteers. Ian Green kept order on the dinghy park while Bill Barker ran the 'on the water' activities.

This Wednesday evening  saw the last of the evening races for 2021 and as the sun set on the Sunset series we were treated to my favourite type of  stock clearance as Graham reducd the beer to £2.00 per pint.

And while we look back on a fantastic summer of sailing we can also look forward to a full calendar ahead.  The Autumn series starts for class 9 dinghies this Sunday,19th September.

I will be your race officer and If you are going to participate, please note that the start time is 10:30 so please remember to set you alarm clocks! It's also the Ironman event that day so leave yourself a bit more time to travel to the club just in case of road closures.

Next weekend on Saturday 25th will be a day to welcome this season's new members with a day of sailing and  a Barbeque.  Please sign up on the spreadsheet that Andy Adler has previously circulated. It's going to be a great opportunity for new members to meet existing members and for those existing members to take potential new crew for a sail and extol the virtues of their particular craft.

Phew, there's a lot going on but that's all after I prepare my car for its MOT!

See you on the water

Richard
